Steve Gore-Rowe's handcrafts sculptural vessels and practical woodware are made from locally sourced hardwoods. The profiles of his "Self-Settling Ash and Oak" vessels have been designed to interact with the movement in the wood, creating a silent conversion between the maker and material until an agreement has been met. Density of the material, volume of moisture, centre of gravity and proportions all have a part to play in the conversation until the piece is fully dry.

Steve considers the shapes and textures found in the natural world to be strong influences as well as the effect of the passing of time on objects left in the environment.
