NICHOLAS SEROTA EXPANDS ON A VISION OF THE ARTS AND ITS POTENTIAL TO IMPROVE LIFE IN RURAL TOWNS

Nicholas Serota talks more about this in his article published in The Guardian newspaper, dated August 26. We have always looked at promoting the contemporary and country based artists and makers across the eastern region.

As chair of Arts Council England he talks about the ACE vision in bringing communities together, promoting individual well-being and helping towns to adapt to changing economic conditions. The arts have an ever-increasing role in helping us all to live well. In supporting the cultural sector, we create happier, more vibrant communities that we can all be proud to be a part of. For us in the Eastern Region this of course, extends beyond the towns into rural communities. This lies behind the work we do in showcasing artists work to bring their work to a wider audience.

The article linked to below looks at the arts in the Fenlands of East Anglia.
