The opening of this major exhibition of sculpture by Anish Kapoor - some being seen for the very first time in public... is a real coup for the east of England and huge credit to the vision of Lord Cholmondeley. As john Snow put it in his broadcast interview where he commented that in the light of everything going on Anish Kapoor has moved on the discussion surrounding the place of art in a time of pandemic and in an atmosphere where so many strive to address issues raised by historic slavery and the Black Lives Matter movement.
We are delighted to be able to share this moment by opening our latest pop up in the stables at Houghton bringing 40+ local artists and makers to showcase their work, mostly carried pout in these past 4-5 months as we entered and now emerge slowly from the immediate effects of Covid-19
