The coffee coloured North Sea. Sometimes looking thick and rolling as if of mercury, a hint at times of blue, but never ever the turquoise of the Channel further south, or the seas off the west coast. From Lowestoft to Southwold, walking and photographs taken, then selected with a desire, and with paint an attempt to capture one second, when a moment later everything will have changed. It’s also of now, but it could have been of back then, thousands of years ago, or of a future, that who knows how the world will be. Timeless with land, sea and sky, its motion, its sounds and the spray evoked in oil paint.
